A Star is Born

OOO I can't believe I didn't know about this film before I watched it! I wasn't having the most cheerful of days, so I thought I'd watch a movie that I'd had sitting around forever, A Star is Born with Judy Garland and James Mason. I had to do a double take to see when the movie was made. It's so real and so sad. OH MY GOD it was sad. Those scenes between Judy and James were so sexy and so happy.....and then they completely rip you apart. No one works a button down and tights better than Judy, and nobody plays the true alcoholic with a charming and sincere will to quit better than James. Rehab, suicide, sex...this movie was so far ahead. Judy is absolutely amazing. I do wish that I would have decided to watch something more upbeat.
