Today
The sun shone brilliantly, illuminating the thick, verdant canopy formed by the crisscrossing of the oak limbs, like hands folded in prayer. A golden wisp of hair that had always refused to be tamed fell across my eyes as the breeze playfully teased, coming only in small breaths. And despite these gifts, a deep melancholy washed over me in unpredictable waves.
